New York, October 11-12, 2006 The Academy convened a two-day meeting in New York (October 11-12, 2006) in collaboration with the leadership of the Global Security Institute and its Middle Powers Initiative to explore the potential for cooperative effort.
MPI is a pioneering effort that brings together top diplomats of 25 countries with the heads of eight leading international nongovernmental organizations. Douglas Roche, Chairman of MPI and Jonathan Granoff, President of GSI and recently elected Fellow of the Academy participated in the discussions. Participation from the Academy also included Walter Truett Anderson, Bob Berg, Lincoln Bloomfield, Harlan Cleveland, John Cox, Robert van Harten, Garry Jacobs, and Ashok Natarajan.
