This conference was co-organized by Pugwash Croatia and WAAS, to discuss ways to reach sustainable peace and human security, the role of global multipolarity, the new world order and the need for nuclear security and science diplomacy.
Garry Jacobs, President of the World Academy of Art and Science, underscores the need for a human-centric security paradigm amidst global challenges, advocating for holistic solutions and multilateral reform. Despite concerns over technological advances and inequalities, Jacobs remains optimistic, highlighting the potential of transnational organizations to drive progress.
This conference focused on the importance of Europe’s leadership in global affairs and its role in resolving conflicts through dialogue and critical thinking. Speakers urged the need for fundamental changes in education and the promotion of universal human values to achieve common goals like the SDGs. Organizations like Pugwash, World Academy of Art and Science, and the Club of Rome were seen as powerful leaders in promoting human security and bringing real change in the world.
