Elif Çepni

Elif Cepni was the former Rector of Dogus University and former Vice President of Bahcesehir University. She was appointed as the Rector of Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University in July 2019 to set up a system of the newly established university. She completed the task in November 2019. As of January 2020, Prof. Cepni is professor of management (decision making) and Dean, Karabuk University's Faculty of Business Administration. Prof. Dr. Cepni is the author of "A Guide for Economic and Financial Indicators", as well as "The Economy of Turkey in Retrospect" and "Let’s Get Developed". In addition to her writing, she has also taught courses ranging from "Microeconomics", "Macroeconomics", "Development Economics". Fadwa El Guindi

After graduating in 1960 from the American University in Cairo with a Bachelor of Arts in political science (cum laude), Fadwa El Guindi embarked on a distinguished career in the field of anthropology and on the lecture circuit a public intellectual. She earned a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin.

El Guindi served as distinguished professor and head of department of Social Sciences at Qatar University. El Guindi published more than 90 scholarly publications in English, Italian, French, Russian, Arabic, German and Spanish and several award-winning documentaries. She is currently Retiree Anthropologist at the University of California, Los Angeles, previously having served as faculty at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, University of California, Santa Barbara, and Georgetown University.

Her expertise on the Middle East brought her to the Clinton White House, and she frequently gave lectures to diplomats assigned to the Middle East at the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State. She is elected member on the Board of Trustees of the World Academy of Art & Science

Rodolfo A. Fiorini is Professor of Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano University, Italy. He had joined research projects with Stanford University and University of California at Los Angeles. He has received prestigious awards and honors from Italian National Research Council, University and Research Ministry, U.S.A DOL, etc. R. A. Fiorini is the founder and coordinator of the Research Group on Computational Information Conservation Theory (CICT). Thomas Reuter

Prof Thomas Reuter was born in Germany in 1961 and migrated to Australia in 1981. After BA studies at the University of Melbourne (UoM), he obtained a PhD from the Australian National University in 1997. He first taught at Heidelberg University in his native Germany, before taking up post-doctoral and QE-II Fellowships at UoM, a Research Fellowship at Monash University, and an ARC Future Fellowship back at UoM. He is currently a Professor in Asian Anthropology at UoM’s Asia Institute. He was President of the Australian Anthropological Association (2002-2005), executive member and chair of the World Council of Anthropological Associations (2004/2008-2012), Senior Vice-President of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (2008-2018), and has been a leading figure in the internationalisation of his discipline. He then was elected to the executive of the International Social Science Council (2013-2018), as it merged with ICSU to form the new International Science Council (ISC). He has served as an expert advisor to IPCC, IPBES, WSDR, UNESCO and several national governments. He is currently a member of the board of WAAS and also of Future Earth (Asia Regional Center), as well as a fellow of the European Academy of Science (EASA) and Academia Europaea (EA). Twenty-five years of research in Asia (Indonesia) have focused on indigenous people, social movements, religious change, political and economic elites, ecology, climate change, food security and globalisation. Results have been communicated in twelve books and 140 articles, and numerous conference panels and keynotes. Prof Reuter’s current interest lies in fostering global cooperation for a sustainable future.

Donato Kiniger Passigli is a Member of the Board of Trustees, World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and is the WAAS Representative to the UN in Geneva.

Donato Kiniger Passigli is an expert in crisis resolution, development cooperation, public and labou affairs. He currently serves as Senior Advisor for Peace and Security at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Until recently, he coordinated the Fragile States and Disaster Response Group at the International Labour Organization (ILO). He specialized in promoting crisis response programmes and initiatives in the wake of major humanitarian crises, addressing governance and employment deficits.

In his experience of over 30 years at the United Nations, he was spokesperson for UN Humanitarian Affairs Office (OCHA) and head of the media and public affairs branch of the Hague-based Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). He served as chief of staff for the UN Mission in Western Sahara and was head of external relations at the International Criminal Tribunal for Former-Yugoslavia and Rwanda. He also served as head of office in Belgrade for the UN peacekeeping mission and managed large UN development programmes.

Donato Kiniger Passigli is an expert in humanitarian action and governance, conflict analysis, risk management, disaster needs assessment, business continuity and partnership-building. Yehuda Kahane

Yehuda Kahane is the treasurer of the Academy. He a recognized expert in the global insurance industry and a very successful multi-entrepreneur, was the author of a proposal to the world association of insurance and pension funds at the Rio Environmental Conference to invest a major portion of their resources into sustainable development projects that promote long-term human welfare, as a result of which an accord was signed by the participating companies to redirect trillions of dollars of their investment portfolio and a special award was issued to him. Ian Johnson

Ian Johnson has experience in the areas of sustainable development, energy and economic policy. He spent twenty-six years at the World Bank, starting as an energy economist and financial analyst and working through increasing levels of responsibility. He was, for his last eight years, Vice President for Sustainable Development and, for five years, also Chairman of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Prior to joining the World Bank, he was an economist with the British Government and spent five years in Bangladesh working with the United Nations and a non-government organization. Since leaving the World Bank Ian Johnson has been an advisor to the government of Chile, a member of the Swedish Commission on Climate Change, senior advisor to Global Legislators Organisation for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE) and chair of its Ecosystems Services Panel, as well as consultant to a number of international organizations. Dr. Johnson has acted as an advisor to the UK government, the UNFCCC and IFAD. From 2010-2014, Ian Johnson served the Club of Rome as Secretary General. He is an economist who has studied economics at the universities of Wales, Sussex and Harvard and business studies at Harvard.

Alexander Likhotal

Alexander Likhotal was the former President of Green Cross International (GCI). He holds doctorates in Political Science from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (1975) and History from USSR Academy of Sciences (1987). In addition to an academic career, he served as a European security analyst for the Soviet Union leadership. In 1991, he was appointed Deputy Spokesman and Advisor to the President of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev. After Mr. Gorbachev’s resignation, he served as his advisor and spokesman at the Gorbachev Foundation.
